Take Pride in Your Eyebrows!

Like everything else that comes back in style,
full eyebrows are no different!

l

If there's one thing all of our style icons have in common it's understanding the most importance of grooming your eyebrows! Your eyebrows frame your face and can give you a more distinct look. And if done well, a more youthful appearance! Whatever shape you find most flattering for your eyebrows, the makeup artists at Shoppe Lula Mae recommend always coloring your eyebrows in. Properly groomed eyebrows give a fuller, more polished look! And always, always, always add a highlight under the brow to really open your eyes and show definition!

Here are some tips:
If you have light, barely noticeable eyebrows, and you are coloring them in for definition pick a color that is very close to your current eyebrow color. You don't need to pick an extreme color to define your eyebrows. As you apply the color to your brows you will notice them gradually appear more defined* without looking fake.

If you already have dark eyebrows pick a shade lighter than the color of your eyebrows. Once your begin to apply the lighter color to your brows you will notice how the color will blend in with your actual eyebrow color and will give you more defined* eyebrows. This is the trick to not having your eyebrows look fake or drawn on. You never want your eyebrows to take the focus away from the rest of your features. You simply want them to compliment your eyes and the rest of your face!

*For extra definition:
Once you finish coloring in your eyebrows, take your concealer (or a shade lighter than you normally use, if available) and with a thin brush apply the concealer right below your brow, as if you were "tracing" or "underlining" your eyebrows. Be sure to blend in the concealer then apply a highlight color for an extra glow (don't be afraid to use a little shimmer here!)

You can purchase an inexpensive eyebrow pencil at CVS, Walgreens, or your local beauty supply store. If your on a budget, an eyebrow pencil is something you should take advantage of getting for cheap! We recommend eyeslipsface.com, you can find one for around $3.
If your a little more experienced you can pick up a small angle brush, we recommend brush #266 from MACcosmetics.com along with an eye shadow color of your choice.
This brush can also be used for applying eye liner... But we'll leave that for another blog!
